Deer Ridge is a distinctive memory care community built to provide individualized care for older adults with memory loss in a refined, luxurious setting. Located near the base of scenic Mt. Rainier in the age-friendly town of Puyallup, WA, the purpose-built campus at Deer Ridge showcases Koelsch Construction’s unique expertise in designing memory care communities.
From extra-wide hallways to inviting outdoor spaces to historical vignettes, every detail serves to fashion environments, rooms, and experiences that ignite happiness through reminiscence and specialized care.
The Koelsch team worked closely with the city of Puyallup during the Deer Ridge build to ensure that construction was completed with as little interruption to the schedule as possible. This new development is the first dedicated memory care community for seniors in the Puyallup area and provides over 60 new long-term local jobs in culinary, active living, concierge, 24-hour nursing, and more.

This project in Puyallup, WA has been an exciting one for the Koelsch Construction team. Deer Ridge is Puyallup’s first residential community crafted specifically to support the needs of seniors with memory loss. The Deer Ridge community environment is dedicated to an individualized approach to memory care focused on lifestyle, safety, and day-to-day purpose and connection.
We appreciated this design opportunity as a chance to construct an exquisitely appointed setting that offers residents a one-of-a kind place to live, grow, and find joy and meaning each day.
The timing of this project brought many unforeseen challenges due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. We are proud of our team for keeping the build moving forward despite supply chain and staffing difficulties.
